LATE PAYMENT OF COACHES IS NOT RIGHT, END THAT PRACTICE – KWESI APPIAH TO MOYS

Former Black Stars head coach, James Kwasi Appiah has kicked against the late payment of salaries of national team coaches in the country as he stresses that the practice must be abolished.

The experienced tactician and former Ghana international have been owed by the Ministry of Youth of Sports for the past 6 months with some 5 months’ salary arrears before parting ways with the national team.

In an interview with BBC Sports Africa, Coach Kwasi Appiah has lamented over the practice of delay in payment to coaches in the West African country as he calls on employers to stop that practice.

“It’s not right and should not be encouraged – irrespective of whether (the coach is) local or foreign”, the gaffer shared.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has cleared 2 out of the 5 months’ salary arrears owed Coach Kwesi Appiah and the technical team he worked with at the Black Stars.

The Ministry says they are making arrangements and will pay the rest very soon.
